Postdiscardism
ReMida's Arts Philosophy

Postdiscardism, a growing art movement, provokes artists to use non-traditional materials to create art.

Five core principles underlie this movement

Non-destructive

The materials are preserved (as much as possible) in their original state.

Impermanency

Pieces are designed to be deconstructed, and the materials are used for future works.

Harmony

The base colour, texture and form of materials become the primary colour palette of the work, i.e. paints, dyes and inks are utilised.

Documentation

The process, materials and work are extensively documented and become the enduring aspect of the work.

Adaption

the difference between the idea and the temperament of the materials pushes the creative process in unexpected directions. The artist transforms their piece (often from necessity) to ensure the meaning of the piece is conveyed to the audience.
