How precious could our plastics be, if they never reach the sea?
Jellyfish Plastics by REmida est. 2018, is a Precious Plastics inspired model of community-based plastics reuse. Our project focuses on transforming plastic bottle caps into other, beautiful objects . Each time you buy an item from Jellyfish Plastics, you are preventing plastic lids from entering the environment.
There are 4 main types of workshops that can be booked with the Jellyfish Plastics team.
A 45min introduction to plastics, this includes a demonstration of our manual plastics granulator.
A 90 minute session, this includes a prototyping exercise and the chance to explore the whole process, from collection through to product creation, and is a great STEM session for children of all ages.
Small group sessions run at REmida, these have a maximum of 15 participants (this includes helpers/educators) and focuses on working with hot plastics.
Team building sessions, grab a group and spend time at REmida making interesting items with repurposed plastics.
Session prices range from $90 - $675, fill in a quote request below to start your booking.

There are a range of items available through the store, and you can also submit an order request for items in specific amounts, i.e. if you would like a class set of wheels or counters etc.
While an item may look like a plate or bowl, they are not intended for use with food (so no microwaves or dishwashers).
Our focus is on mixed colours, rather than flat reds, pinks, blues; this comes from our process as sorting, granulating and moulding process is done by a small team and mixed batches are faster.
The pictures for each item are a guide, the your item will be of that type, but the colours will vary.
You are welcome to granulate and make items from your own supply of lids, there is a small fee attached to the use of the machines, send us an inquiry here.
A 10% deposit is required on all orders, production starts once the deposit has been received.
If you decide you no longer want/need your item, it can be returned to Jellyfish Plastics and turned into something else; there is no need for our items to enter landfill.
