
Artist in Residence
Assisting with the development of sustainable arts practices within Western Australia.
REmida seeks collaborations with artists who approach the issue of sustainability within their work or who have an interest in exploring the use of discards and found objects within their practices. The program supports the development and practice of new sustainable art forms in Western Australia.
As a part an artist’s residency with us, REmida will provide: Access to REmida material resources throughout the duration of your residency. Workspace to conduct your artist practice. Gallery space for showing works (details below) Facilitation of exhibition opening or closing event Facebook introductory post Facebook promotion of an exhibition or workshop via REmida’s Facebook page REQUIREMENTS REmida requires all accepted artists to spend a minimum of 2 days per week at REmida during their residency period. Artists are required to provide at least one member engagement (eg. exhibition, demonstration or workshop) where REmida members are able to engage with your practice and processes. Exhibitions can be physical or be in the form of a social media takeover. All artists in residence must provide a National Police Clearance of no older than 3 months to REmida before their residency will be approved. All artists in residence must provide a COVID19 vaccine certificate. Upon application approval, successful artists must provide a short artist bio and a statement about their practice and intended project for promotional purposes. Artists will be required to supply photographic examples of previous work. Artists are required to pay a $200 bond on arrival to the studio. This bond will be returned when it has been approved that the studio has been returned to the condition it was received, including removal of materials and artworks, cleaned and the premises is deemed as undamaged.
