Mirror – an exhibition of collages by Jeannie Baker

You might be interested in an exhibition coming up soon at the State Library. Mirror features the original collages from the children’s book of the same name, by Australian author/illustrator Jeannie Baker. The collages follow the lives of two boys, one living in Sydney and the other living in Morocco, and shows the similarities between their lives, despite the geographical and cultural differences between them.

The collages are made up of incredibly detailed layers of fabric, paper and natural materials. Perhaps you might swing by REmida on your way home from the exhibition and pick up materials to make your own collage of a day in your life?

Where: The Gallery, Ground floor
When: 5 July – 28 September 2012, open during State Library opening hours.
Cost: Free
